SOLD: Parker's Real Maple
New Era. Same Great Products.
This is Joshua writing to update you on an exciting new development for Parker's Real Maple: the brand has been acquired!
For the past seven years, I've been writing to our mailing list and blog with the successes and failures, exciting advancements and heartbreaking set-backs that define entrepreneurship. At first only 126 people received these updates - mostly family and friends. Today, tens of thousands will receive this email and blog. This is only possible because of your unwavering support as a customer, candid feedback provider, and passionate evangelist of the Parker's brand. Let me take this opportunity to say, thank you. You've made my American Dream a reality.
For many, you've heard our story many times. But for those who haven't, I started Parker's Real Maple just over seven years ago from my parents' barn as a 15 year old in 2013. As I focused on innovating with real maple to share the nutrient rich, better-for-you sweetener I loved with more people in more ways, the brand began to catch on. In 2016, I was blessed to go on ABC's Shark Tank which catapulted the brand into four years of explosive growth.
I'd like to tell you more about who exactly acquired the brand and provide additional back-story, but incase you're pressed for time let me jump to:
What does this mean for you?
1) More Innovation: Be on the look-out for new product packaging and exciting new product launches!
2) Faster Service: Additional resources and operational capacity means we will be able to serve all customers better. Faster order fulfillment, faster customer service!
3) Greater Availability: Limited-quantity items (such as maple butter) will now have more consistent availability!
Now to the details: The Parker's Real Maple brand has been acquired by The Forest Farmers, a company based near us in Upstate NY. You can see their flagship brand, New Leaf Tree Syrups here: NewLeafTreeSyrups.com.
The Forest Farmers was started by Michael Farrell, Ph.D. who ran The Maple Research Center at Cornell University for 13 years. I met Mike in 2013 when I was starting Parker’s Real Maple. He soon became my earliest “mentor” in growing the brand. Mike went onto leave Cornell in 2017 to work with two other partners in building the largest syrup production company in NY state with the mission to preserve North East forests and create jobs. Over the past 3-4 years The Forest Farmers has focused on building out its production capacity of maple syrup and other tree syrups (e.g. Birch, Beech, Walnut, etc.), while at the same time, I’ve been working to build the brand, marketing, and distribution of Parker’s Real Maple. Now, The Forest Farmers' operational prowess, with two production facilities and over 10,000 acres of wild forest, will be behind the power of the Parker's brand.
As for me, I plan to stay on with The Forest Farmers and continue to advance our mission.
Please email me with any thoughts, questions, ideas for this new era. The best is yet to come!
I look forward to continuing to bring you the best nature has to offer. ParkersMaple.com/BuyNow
